OUR FEES & REBATES
Casey Psychology Centre is a community focused psychology practice and understands the importance of providing mental health services to the whole community.
For this reason, we offer reduced-fee services to all health-care card or pension card holders.
Our mission is to bring high quality affordable services to all residents of Casey and the surrounding areas.
OUR INDIVIDUAL SESSION FEES
PAYMENTS must be made at the time of consultation via Cash or Stored credit card/EFTPOS payment
REPORT FEES: Report fees vary based on the complexity of the claim and type of report requested e.g. court reports, letter of attendance (court purposes), NDIS etc.
Our reports are graded in three categories - basic report, standard report and comprehensive report. Report fees can range between $550 (basic) to $3500 (comprehensive).
Please discuss your individual circumstances with your Psychologist for a report estimate.
PLEASE NOTE: We do not provide reports for Total and Permanent Disability (TPD) claims.

CLAIMING ON MEDICARE
MENTAL HEALTH TREATMENT PLAN (MHTP): A MHTP allows Australian residents that hold a valid Medicare Card to access mental health services at a reduced rate.

MEDICARE REBATE: If you wish to claim the Medicare rebate, you MUST have a Referral letter plus a MHCP from your GP or psychiatrist. You can then self-claim your rebate through the Medicare Express App or through your MyGov account at the conclusion of each Psychology session.
MEDICARE SESSIONS ALLOWANCE: Currently, Medicare provide a rebate for a maximum of 10 individual sessions and 10 group sessions per calendar year.
PRIVATE HEALTH CARE
Clients can attend under private arrangements. Clients with private health care may be eligible for rebates through their private health-care provider. The amount rebated will vary based on an individual’s level of health cover. Please check with your health care provider to see if you are covered for psychology services.
Private clients are not required to have a referral letter from their GP. You can self-refer. Session fees are $225.

TAC and WORKSAFE
We provide treatment to those who are self-managed Worksafe and TAC clients.

Our fee is $260 per session payable at the time of your appointment. With your claim approval you are eligible for a rebate, which you can claim directly through your insurance provider. For Worksafe and TAC patients, we require a letter of approval for psychological treatment from your associated agency PLUS a letter from your GP prior to attending your first session.

Unfortunately, we no longer see VOCAT clients due to the transition to the Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS) and the changes to Psychological services.

DEPARTMENT OF VETERAN AFFAIRS
There are no out-of-pocket expenses for psychological services, however we do require a referral letter from your GP that clearly states you are eligible for DVA services.

NDIS
We are not an NDIS provider. NDIS recipients must be self-managed or have a plan management provider to access our services. We also do not invoice directly to any third party for psychology sessions. You are required to pay for your session at the time of your consultation and then claim the rebate back from your respective agency.
Fees are applicable for summary letters and review reports requested by the NDIA. These costs vary depending on the depth of the report and can be invoiced directly to your plan manager.
The fee for NDIS clients for psychological therapy is in accordance with the NDIS schedule of psychology fees - currently $232.99.

What to expect when booking a session:
Individual sessions are 50 minutes in duration.
An initial assessment consultation involves the psychologist gaining background information about the presenting issue in order to understand the clients needs and develop a treatment plan.
Treatment goals are periodically reviewed during the course of treatment.
Psychological questionnaires may also be administered during the assessment phase.
CANCELLATION FEES
We have a very strict cancellation policy that applies to ALL late cancellations. Our Psychologists have set aside their time to specifically see you, please respect this and consider it a matter of courtesy to cancel your appointment within the 24-hour (business) time frame.
A cancellation fee of the full session amount will be charged if you fail to cancel your appointment without providing 24-business hour’s notice or if you fail to attend your scheduled appointment.
Please note: this fee is NOT covered by Medicare and will be charged at the time of your missed appointment.
(PLEASE NOTE: we are closed on week-ends and do not accept cancellations over this time - therefore cancellation fees will apply - Monday appointments are confirmed on Friday)
